| Team India in city
Cricket passion today reached a feverish pitch with the arrival of the 14-member Indian team here at Hotel Mountview this evening. The team, however, was in no mood to hang around the hotel where it was greeted by fans amid heavy security. However, Harbhajan, Rahul, Sehwag, RP Singh and Sachin obliged the fans with autographs. Without giving the mediapersons an opportunity to interact, Rahul and his team scurried out of the lobby through a side exit and went to their hotel rooms upstairs. It was a long and disappointing wait for reporters and television crews. However, they appeared somewhat dejected, probably after the three-wicket defeat at the hands of West Indies, who became the second team to qualify for the semifinals. Scheduled to play the knock-out match against Australia at the PCA Stadium on October 29, the team decided against any practice session today.
Defeat clutter; author Jeff Bredenberg tells how
If you are one of those people who spent January neatly arranging your stuff in see-through plastic boxes and identifying the contents with a Dymo labelmaker, please go do something else. Alphabetize your spices. Clean the grout with a toothbrush. This story is not for you. This is a story about organizing for the rest of us. Especially those who are - let's be diplomatic here - "terminally disorganized," says Jeff Bredenberg. "Everybody wants an environment they can feel good about. Nobody sits around their house and says, 'How can I be more disorganized?' The fact is, a lot of people don't try harder because most organizational systems are way too complex." Riding to the rescue is Bredenberg, 54, author of How to Cheat at Organizing: Quick Clutter-Clobbering Ways to Simplify Your Life (Taunton, $14.95).
Study: Harlingen has third lowest cost of living in U.S.
HARLINGEN — Harlingen has the third lowest cost of living in the nation, according to a report by the Council for Community and Economic Research. The city received a score of 83.5, compared to the national average of 100, on the cost-of-living index that was compiled by the council, which goes by the new name, C2ER. The 2007 study analyzed 303 urban areas, according to a news release from the Harlingen Economic Development Corp. Joplin, Mo., had the lowest cost of living with a score of 81 and New York City (Manhattan) had the highest at 212.8, the news release states. Erol Yildirim, director of data products and economist for C2ER, said the study does not look at per capita income. It analyzes the cost of 60 items and compares those items, and their particular cost in a city, to the average cost of those items nationwide.

ALLAH GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE, COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AMIN Anwar Mahmood, Canada Peace for mankindThe disguised Qazi is terririzing the readers of this paper. I CAN BET ANY THING THAT THIS QAZI IS NOT PAKISTANI AND IS TAKING UP THIS NAME FOR INTRIGUE. WE ONLY CRITICISE THOSE INDIANS WHO CREATE RIFT BETWEEN US TWO PEOPLE. HIS STYLE OF WRIYING IS TOTALLY FOREIGN AND HIS ENGLISH WRITING IS COMING FROM A VERY HIGH CALIBRE OF DISRUPTING THAT CAUSE INTRIGUE AND DIVISION AMONGST PEOPLE. I CAN HONESTLY TELL YOU THAT THIS STYLE OF WRITING AND CERTAIN MODES OF WRITING COMES FROM THOSE SPECIAL GENES.

McCain supporter Sen. Joe Lieberman suggests if his guy wins the GOP nomination, Mayor Bloomberg will have no "real reason" to run for president. Home Depot co-founder and Wall Streett Titan Ken Langone has signed on as a McCain backer. McCain will appear on the "Late Show" tonight with Giuliani. McCain's campaign is getting used to his frontrunner status - an internal memo says he's the "de facto nominee" after Feb. 5. Former state GOP Chairman/Monroe County GOP Chairman Steve Minarik has yet to endorse McCain (he didn't back Giuliani, saying he was holding out for Bloomberg). Gov. Obama's Hispanderama
There is a premise that the Iraqis are not doing enough now, that there is a capability that they have not employed or used. ''I am not so sure they are capable of stopping sectarian violence." Instead of taking troops out, Zinni said, it would make more sense to consider deploying additional American forces over the next six months to ''regain momentum'' as part of a broader effort to create more jobs, foster political reconciliation and develop more effective Iraqi security forces. .
Exercise for Arthritis Patients
CHAPEL HILL -- Patients with arthritis, the country's leading cause of disability, tend to be less fit than their peers who don't have this condition. Studies have shown, however, that they can safely participate in exercise programs to increase their fitness, strength and psychosocial status and health providers recommend that arthritis patients participate in exercise. A new study published by a University of North Carolina (UNC) researcher, published in the most recent issue of Arthritis Care and Research, evaluated the effects of the People with Arthritis Can Exercise (PACE) program to promote managing arthritis through exercise. Although pilot studies had shown that PACE, developed by the Arthritis Foundation, led to improvements for arthritis patients, this was the first randomized controlled trial to evaluate the program.
