| Ochoa breaks $4 million barrier
Ochoa, 26, initially appeared to be cruising toward the winner's prize of $US1 million ($A1.13 million) in the final-round shootout at Trump International Golf Club. The Guadalajara native birdied four of the first six holes and picked up another shot at the par-five ninth to reach the turn five strokes clear. After a run of seven consecutive pars, she stumbled with a three-putt double bogey at the treacherous par-three 17th before setting up her sixth birdie of the day with a superb approach to within three feet of the flag at the last. Ochoa, who replaced Swede Annika Sorenstam as the game's leading player in April, calmly rolled in the putt to end the 2007 LPGA season in triumphant style. American Cristie Kerr picked up three shots over the final five holes to claim fourth spot with a 74, four strokes better than fifth-placed Mi Hyun Kim of South Korea who had led over the first two days.
Homebuilder confidence rises some
Builder confidence in the housing market rose a little in February, according to the latest reading on the housing market index released by the National Association of Home Builders and Well Fargo on Tuesday. The index, which gauges builders' perceptions of conditions and expectations for home sales in the next six months, rose one point to 20 in February. That was still near its lowest-ever reading of 18, reached in December of last year. Index readings higher than 50 indicate positive sentiment. The seasonally adjusted index has been below 50 since May 2006. The index gauging traffic of prospective buyers rose five point, offering some measure of optimism. "While builders remain very cautious about the outlook for new-home sales given today's economic environment, the fact that more consumers appear to be checking out their options is a good sign," NAHB president Sandy Dunn said in a statement.

That's Danny Billions to you
I think it says a lot about the man when Mr. Lau from Husky stated how his negotiations went with him. He sounds like a guy who when he gives his word it's genuine. I like and respect the man. He's one of the few politicians who seem to have a vision for his Province. I wish we had more of them in Canada. Posted 25/01/08 at 7:44 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .
Loblaw tries to weed out bad apples
An array of witty and intellectual comments. Thank you all. Kim Huynh, I am sorry but your comment about Walmart is hilarious! Have you been reading the news recently? Walmart (although making money still) has been struggling. They have lousy relationships with most suppliers, facing cost increases and have always had a reputation for treating staff poorly. You want to send Loblaws management somewhere? Send them to Lowes, Target or Costco to learn a few things. Posted 19/02/08 at 12:40 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .
16-Year-Old Ecuadorian Boy in Dire Need of Dialysis Treatments Thanks ...
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridge of Life-DaVita Medical Missions program is being recognized as life-saving by 16 year-old Juan Carlos and his family living in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Juan was in dire need of dialysis treatments for survival and was just days away from dying. This past December, DaVita -- one of the nation's leading providers of dialysis care -- helped establish a dialysis clinic in Ecuador's Dr. Roberto Gilbert Elizalde Children's Hospital. A high rate of Ecuadorian children suffer from kidney disease -- and the number only continues to climb. If a patient or family doesn't have money to pay for dialysis care in advance, then life-saving dialysis treatments are generally not available in Ecuador. This dialysis clinic is one of three DaVita has opened outside the United States in underserved communities to help care for those suffering from kidney disease and kidney failure.
Britney's Late Night Workout
Later that night she headed to 24 Hour Fitness at 1:30 a.m. to work out for two hours... because you know, that's normal. Apparently a much thinner Britney is working on something really special for her fans in her new video, "Hot as Ice." Also, Adnan's interviews on Entertainment Tonight are still being stretched out over the week with no real news to report. This time he chatted about her stressed relationship with her mom — same old, same old. More of Britney and the lame interview with Adnan on ET so just read more .
